❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fridge fit under my kitchen worktop?
Yes. At 845mm tall, this drinks fridge fits comfortably under standard UK kitchen worktops (typically 900mm high). You’ll have approximately 55mm clearance above the unit, which is sufficient for ventilation. The 470mm width fits into most standard under-counter spaces.
How quiet is 40dB – can I hear it?
40dB is roughly equivalent to a quiet library or a whispered conversation. It’s significantly quieter than a typical kitchen fridge (which runs at 35-45dB). Most people find 40dB completely unobtrusive – you may not even notice it running unless the room is completely silent.
Can I use this fridge for wine as well as beer?
Absolutely. The adjustable temperature range (2°C to 15°C) covers optimal serving temperatures for most wines. Set to 8-10°C for white wines or 12-15°C for light reds. The removable shelves allow you to store tall wine bottles by creating more vertical space.
Does the glass door affect temperature performance?
No – the Low-E (low emissivity) glass is specifically designed for thermal insulation. It reflects heat back into the room while keeping the cold inside, similar to double-glazing technology. This allows you to view your collection without opening the door and losing cold air.
How much does it cost to run per year?
With annual consumption of 81 kWh, you can expect to pay approximately £28 per year based on the UK average electricity rate of 34p/kWh. That’s less than £2.50 per month – far less than daily trips to the off-licence for cold drinks!
Do I need to manually defrost it? How often?
Yes, this model has manual defrost. Depending on usage and humidity, you may need to defrost every 3-6 months. Signs you need to defrost include ice buildup on the back wall or reduced cooling efficiency. Simply turn it off, leave the door open, and wipe away condensation.
Can I adjust or remove the shelves?
Yes. The wire shelves are fully removable and adjustable. You can reconfigure them to accommodate tall bottles, large containers, or irregularly shaped items. This flexibility is perfect for storing everything from 330ml cans to magnum bottles.
Is there a warranty?
COMFEE’ products sold in the UK typically come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. When purchasing through Amazon, you may also have access to additional protection plans. Always keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.

Shelves I had to fiddle around with to get it right, and the light isn’t great so we don’t bother to switch it on.
But other than that we love it keeps drinks perfectly cold, especially in this weather.
My main issue is that the instructions provided are poor, very poor, and they detail how you SHOULD be able to change the orientation of the door so that it can open left-to-right or right-to-left and this is essentially impossible. You are supposed to remove the plastic covering over the hinge which I was unable to do (and scratched the paint in attempting to do so) and then when I tried any form of non-abrasive item to do it, they snapped. This is the only let down as I would have liked to change this orientation but overall the fridge does exactly what it says and if the option wasn't there to have changed the door, it would have received 5*.
It can be noisy but does the job
Only has 3 shelves but think these are sufficient and can be arranged to get a selection of large/small cans, beer bottles and a few bottles of wine flat at the top. It takes normal wine & champagne bottle up to about 310mm, but long neck bottles (320+) foul the door so would have to twist a little. It comes with door opening on the left but I switched to RHS easily without any issue realigning to he door sill.
In terms of performance this claims to go down to 2℃ which is lower than some on the market and one of the reasons selected, and with noise level of 40db. Well having tested over a about week observations are: With thermostat setting on 5-6 is does indeed get the central area temp down to 1-2℃ (air temp) but obviously takes quite a time from start up (no quick freeze option) and depending on how full it is.
However as you'd expect the temperature is not uniform and with about 1-2℃ mid-shelf the drinks at the bottom were 2-3℃, just slightly higher on mid-shelf and about 5-6℃ top shelf (wine). This covers the range for my use, with beers stacked lower down and wine at top, and doubt you'd get much better performance for a unit of this price.
On the noise level, this is a bit of a disappointment. It does run at about 39/40db (approx. 5mins) until the compressor cuts in with quite a noticeable click/pop sound then runs at 45/46db (approx. 2mins) with a noticeable hum, this as a continuous cycle. So depending on where you're planning to put it (mine is next to a quite computer desk area used regularly) you may find it intrusive, the switching of the compressor can be heard across a room. This is a shame and if mine wasn't for occasional use would have been an issue. One other minor niggle is that the interior light is only manually switched rather than on door opening.
Overall I think I'd still recommend it and definitely good value for the capacity, but would have been happier to pay a little more for a quieter switching unit.
