❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this portable dishwasher
No! This dishwasher has a built-in 6L water tank that you can fill manually using the included water bottle. This makes it perfect for caravans, boats, offices, or anywhere without plumbing access. Alternatively, you can connect it directly to your tap using the included 1.8m inlet hose if you prefer.
The dishwasher can accommodate plates up to 270mm in diameter and is suitable for 3-4 people. Despite its compact size (420 x 435 x 465mm), it offers larger capacity than most mini dishwashers on the market.
The 72°C Hygiene Wash uses high-temperature water to tackle heavily soiled dishes and inhibit bacteria breeding. It’s perfect for baby bottles, milk containers, chopping boards used for raw meat, and any items where hygiene is a priority.
At the end of each wash cycle, the door automatically opens slightly to release steam. Combined with the built-in fan drying system, fresh air circulates inside to dry your dishes faster and more efficiently than heat-only drying. This also saves electricity.
At 58dB, this dishwasher is about as loud as a normal conversation. It’s not whisper-quiet like larger integrated models, but perfectly acceptable for a countertop appliance. Most users run it while in another room or during the day.
The dishwasher measures 420mm (W) x 435mm (D) x 465mm (H). You’ll need 780mm total depth when the door is fully open. Make sure you have sufficient countertop space and a nearby power socket before ordering.
The included 1.8m inlet hose is designed for Male 3/4″ thread taps. If your tap has a different fitting, you may need to purchase a hose thread adapter separately from your local hardware store.
Yes, this is completely normal. COMFEE’ dishwashers undergo quality testing at the factory before shipping, so a small amount of water residue may be present. This does not indicate any fault with the machine.

The Portable Dishwashing Solution

I have put one load through on the short cycle. Everything came out perfectly clean.
I have still to find just where I want to put it. (Filling it is difficult as not enough room when placed under my kitchen units.) I will find a way.
Was easy to set up.
I have seen a review about adding additional suction cups. I found the suction cups a bit useless.
So! I drilled a couple of small holes in the top of my washing up bowl. Put a zip tie in it!! Worked like a charm.
I've had this for three months (almost) and use it every day.
Pros:
- It sits on the worktop, so you are working at one level moving things in and out of the dishwasher with no fear of slipping or tripping onto utensils when the door is open.
- It is self-fill or plumb to a tap.
- You can see inside to be sure nothing is blocking the water from reaching everywhere.
- You can interrupt a programme to switch things in and out (rinse yourself under the tap), or to move things around just by opening the door.
- You can add tap-warm or cold water.
- It is a powerful water jet that does reach all things.
- It does fit a standard sized frying pan, and most pan sizes.
- It doesn't cost a fortune to run.
- You can empty of water as needed with the drain option.
- The vent helps, but it's not a smelly dishwasher because everything is easy to get to, you can see if there are gubbins in the drain sieve.
- You can wipe it out inside after oily tomato dishes and rinse water through with the drain option.
*I found workarounds to all the cons*
Cons:
- The drawer is not great with preset spaces for plates, it's a bit impractical for the designs of crockery we use today. That said the rack does fold away. So I bought an expandable metal rack that fits bowls and pasta bowls and deeper rimmed plates, which sits on top of the folded away rack. ** worth pointing out it is the same for all dishwashers, no matter the make.
- It takes 3x2litre jugs of water and a smidge more, so the 5 litre capacity stated in the description is not accurate on water capacity. That said you can get tap adapters which allow flow-through for normal use and a lever to switch to hose-fill for the dishwasher.
- The cutlery thing makes no sense, it's just a faff, because you cannot use the space above or below it while things are dangling through, and some cutlery falls through, so better to use that space for cups and buy dishwasher cutlery basket that fits your needs.
- * Depending on the space between your worktop and any upper cabinets or shelves it may not fit because you need space to add water at the top, unless you are going to use a tap adapter. But check anyway.
For the manufacturer to consider: no need for fixed plate racks that do not fit today's crockery designs, just leave a flat space and add removable, expandable racks; sort out that cutlery rack, it's just silly.
- The timing for programmes, some are too long (2hrs45 is not necessary) they could all be better purposed as user determined presets: wash for 8min segments, add a 2 minute pause for swap ins, 8 min wash again, etc, then add a rinse segments.
- The variety of programmes: the fruit and baby washes, and the steam feature are practical enough for purpose, if you have a baby, feel washing fruit under a tap is inadequate or have a virus and want to be extra hygienic, but for most people these are not all the time.
4 stars is because I had to find workarounds for the ill-fitting crockery rack and cutlery basket.
All things considered I love it. It's been such a help for me, and if you're interested and you've considered all the above I totally recommend it as one of the most energy efficient and practically priced, self-fill/plumb table-top dishwashers available.
*MY WORKAROUNDS
FROM AMAZON I bought a TAP ATTACHMENT/FITTING: Tecmolog Brass Sink Valve Diverter Faucet Splitter for Kitchen or Bathroom, 3 Way Diverter Valve, Sink Faucet Replacement Part M22 X M24, Chrome, SBA021C - to hose-fill, you have to start the programme for the water to pull through, which is different to self-fill the programme will not start if there isn't enough water. (copy past that into search)
FROM AMAZON. I also took off the cutlery shelf thingum and added a CUTLERY BASKET: Find A Spare Universal Cutlery Utensil Silverware Plastic Grey Basket 2in1 Detachable To Fit Bosch Samsung Maytag Kenmore Whirlpool KitchenAid LG Fridges (search that in Amazon) because it comes in two and is pretty slimline.
And most importantly if you have deep-rimmed plates or pasta dishes, FROM AMAZON I bought a PLATE RACK: MEETOZ Dish Plate Drying Rack, Pot Lid Holder, Adjustable Pot Lid Organizer, Kitchen Cabinet Pantry Pan and Pot Lid Organizer Rack Holder (2Pcs) - because they are expandable to any plate rim size, so I fold down the original rack and place this on top then load up.
** Some reviews mentioned droplets of water inside, mine had this, but that's because they have to run the cycles at the manufacturing plant to test it. Mine arrived without knocks and bangs and with everything factory wrapped inside.
You will likely need to buy new dishes and utensils to fit properly - I found some 25cm diameter plates from IKEA which are ideal. The loading tray can be somewhat fiddly, and it would have earned five stars if the layout was better designed. Filling it completely can be tricky, and realistically, it holds dishes for about six meals, meaning you’ll likely need to run it every other day.
The dishwasher struggles with rice and other stubborn, stuck-on food, so rinsing these items beforehand is necessary. Filling with salt and rinse aid is straightforward, and the washing programs generally produce sparkling clean dishes.
If space weren't an issue, I'd definitely prefer a full-size dishwasher, but given my limitations, this is a suitable alternative. However, I do wish it were slightly bigger, as I have room for a somewhat larger unit.
Really easy to set up. You can attach to a water supply or use the tank in the back of the machine to fill with water. Top tip - if using the tank be careful not to overfill as it causes water to get into the bottom tray and you'll get the E4 fault. Easily fixed but best avoided.
The inside is roomier than you might think. You can either do a few plates cups and cutlery or remove some tray parts to fit small pots and pans. Perfect for a student or small kitchen.
Fairly quiet running with multiple functions including a fruit bowl to wash fruit and a jug to fill the tank.
Not badly priced for what you get and is a good idea for space management.
Overall good.
Fortunately we had 2 years of warranty that time so Comfee refunded the full amount! 👍 (absolutely amazing customer service)
and we ordered the new one (Energy D)
as we were really satisfied with this dishwasher.
Compactness: very compact we can put on top of the counter as we cannot fit a normal dishwasher.
Plumbing: didn’t want to plumb in or call a plumber so I decided to connect to the kitchen tap this time, rather than pouring 6L water every time.
✨ I ordered a tap diverter from Amazon and ordered 1/2 female to 3/4 male adaptor to connect to the water pipe as shown in the pictures.
You need to turn on the tap and start the dishwasher and then the water will fill up.
Once the beeping sound telling you the water is filled, you can close the tap.
Which means you don’t need to run the tap all the time 👍
I like that there is a salt container as we live in hard water area, which I don’t find in other countertop dishwasher.
‼️ When first arrived, inside can be wet due to its test running! which is mentioned on the machine.
Some customers complained about that inside is wet and seems like it is used, but it is because of the test.
Only downside is that they reduce the warranty period to 1 year. I didn’t want to take a risk buying Xcover as seeing many negative reviews. I just need to good care of it.
It has been absolutely brilliant countertop dishwasher for sure! Make life so much easier. It fits a lot than you expected. 👍 very happy customer

There is rattling sound from the right panel when running. When I hold it tight it does not make any noises but as its own it does.
I am not sure whether it is faulty or not.
my main reason for buying this type is it sits nicely next to my sink and under a cupboard nicely.. its plumbed in via a Y input socet for the water but in my case not plumbed for waste flow (i drain it strait into the sink like an old twin tub washing machine) .. works like a dream.
my ONLY gripe with this brand is you cant get the 1 year guarentee in the UK as its an Aussie import and all the pamflets reflect that alas. and thats why i give it only 4 star.. nonetheless a solid reliable machine :)
The dishwasher effectively cleans dishes, but it's worth noting that larger plates may require angling to fit properly. Additionally, the cup rack is suitable for small cups but not ideal for mugs.
Despite these minor quirks, the overall cleaning quality is good. It's a great addition to a small kitchen, providing convenience without taking up much space. If you're looking for an efficient and compact dishwasher for a smaller household, this one is worth considering.
Waskes well, if very soiled needs to put on the higher temp. Also it won't remove some dirt from forks and knilives on low temps.. same as if you would wash by hand.
Mine arrived with dents on every corner and the handle was broken on the cutlery holder. I did contact amazon and send them many images but apparently they 'couldn't see the damage on the 5 images i sent' The dishwasher isn't packaged amazing either, you will see when it arrives how the box doesnt really protect the product. However for a small cheap dishwasher it does the job. You need a Y shaped piece so that you can fit it in and have a washing machine connected to your sink pipes. I leave the waste water hose in the sink, its a little messy looking but as Im living in a rental home, I cant drill through the work tops to hide it.
First, as others have said, genius packaging! What a pleasure not to have the usual cardboard and tape battle to begin.
Installation was a doddle. Connect a couple of hoses, plug it in, and off we go... Though I did use a jubilee clip on the outlet connection, just to be sure.
The photo shows it in a (new) b&q 600mm standard cabinet. I slightly miscalculated and thought the cabinet door would fit, but it's just too deep - I think if I'd gone for a full cupboard, rather than drawer line set up, it would have fit perfectly.
The appliance itself seems sturdy, well made and the fuss-free design is pleasing to the eye. The door opens and shuts with a satisfying clunk, the basket rolls smoothly, and the compartment for tablets/powder seems robust enough.
Using is a doddle too. Press one button to cycle through the 6 preset programmes, and another to start. The digital display shows the length of the cycle, and counts down time left, which is handy as I don't need to remember which cycle is which.
Over the couple of weeks we've had it, I've tried a few of the cycles. For day to day cups, crockery and cutlery, the 30 min cycle is perfectly adequate. It doesn't have a "drying" component, but then the longer cycles don't really leave things "dry" anyway. The 90min cycle has handled oven dishes with cooked on gravy and sticky crumble juice. It's quieter than I expected (now I've realised that noise is the powder compartment opening, *not* a hose popping off!).
For such a small appliance, it does seem to hold a fair amount. With a bit of thought, it'll easily hold a whole day's washing up for the two of us - I've not completely filled it yet, even on Xmas day, and we get through a LOT of mugs!
All in all, I'm really impressed with what I've got for my money. Obviously I can't comment on longevity yet - I'll update if we run into any problems. The missing 5th star is just due to the basket design. I would have liked the slots for plates to be just a little bit deeper to hold them better - we have Denby crockery with thick lips, and it can be a bit fiddly to position them so they don't fall over.
