❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fridge fit under my kitchen worktop?
Yes. At 845mm tall, this drinks fridge fits comfortably under standard UK kitchen worktops (typically 900mm high). You’ll have approximately 55mm clearance above the unit, which is sufficient for ventilation. The 470mm width fits into most standard under-counter spaces.
How quiet is 40dB – can I hear it?
40dB is roughly equivalent to a quiet library or a whispered conversation. It’s significantly quieter than a typical kitchen fridge (which runs at 35-45dB). Most people find 40dB completely unobtrusive – you may not even notice it running unless the room is completely silent.
Can I use this fridge for wine as well as beer?
Absolutely. The adjustable temperature range (2°C to 15°C) covers optimal serving temperatures for most wines. Set to 8-10°C for white wines or 12-15°C for light reds. The removable shelves allow you to store tall wine bottles by creating more vertical space.
Does the glass door affect temperature performance?
No – the Low-E (low emissivity) glass is specifically designed for thermal insulation. It reflects heat back into the room while keeping the cold inside, similar to double-glazing technology. This allows you to view your collection without opening the door and losing cold air.
How much does it cost to run per year?
With annual consumption of 81 kWh, you can expect to pay approximately £28 per year based on the UK average electricity rate of 34p/kWh. That’s less than £2.50 per month – far less than daily trips to the off-licence for cold drinks!
Do I need to manually defrost it? How often?
Yes, this model has manual defrost. Depending on usage and humidity, you may need to defrost every 3-6 months. Signs you need to defrost include ice buildup on the back wall or reduced cooling efficiency. Simply turn it off, leave the door open, and wipe away condensation.
Can I adjust or remove the shelves?
Yes. The wire shelves are fully removable and adjustable. You can reconfigure them to accommodate tall bottles, large containers, or irregularly shaped items. This flexibility is perfect for storing everything from 330ml cans to magnum bottles.
Is there a warranty?
COMFEE’ products sold in the UK typically come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. When purchasing through Amazon, you may also have access to additional protection plans. Always keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.

-Looks good
-Keeps drinks cold
-Internal light can be kept on
-holds a good amount
Cons:
-Not silent. Not too noisy but certainly can be heard
-Racks could be better - no 'lip' at the back to stop bottles rolling off as there are at the front
-Poorly designed integration of the drip tray causes vibration against the compressor
This fridge looks really nice, gets everything lovely and cold and once set up it works well. It's too small internally from back to front for standard 2L bottles of pop, but they do go sideways on the racks. Just be careful if you pull the racks out that the bottles don't roll to the back and fall off - we learned from experience. There are ridges on the racks but only at one side so we have them at the front to stop things rolling out.
Also, this fridge is not silent. It's not annoying but it's more noticeable than our 5 yr. old standard domestic kitchen fridge. Having said that it doesn't cause us any undue concern... but it did for a time and nearly ended up going back.
The fridge arrived well packaged and wasn't too heavy to move into it's final home. Without knowing how it had been transported I allowed it to stand for a few hours before switching on. And that's when the noise started. It was genuinely like tractor being started up first thing in the morning. I could hear the hum of the compressor, which is normal, but there was an almighty grating and vibrating sound that was horrific. After hours and hours of messing around trying to level it, move it, twist it around and reposition it we'd just about had enough, but then I discovered where the sound was coming from. Around the back there's a plastic drip tray located just above the black compressor and it appears that there should be some 'lugs' holding it up away from the compressor but they were entirely absent. The tray was resting against the compressor body so every time it kicked in the noise reverberated through the machine and it sounded awful. It took me 60 seconds to cut some strong grip tape to hold the drip tray away from the compressor and - almost silence!
All in all, looks nice, keeps drinks cold, shelf racks could be a lot better, customers shouldn't have to fix what should never have been broken.
